Nine Men's Morris is an abstract strategy board game for two players that emerged from the Roman Empire. The game is also known as Nine Man Morris, Mill, Mills, Merels, Merelles, and Merrills in English.
Three Men's Morris, Six Men's Morris and Twelve Men's Morris are similar games.
The Morris family of games was known and played in roman times in the first centuary, and may have been played earlier. A Cousin to Tic-Tac-Toe, it offers a more advanced game, where forming a row of three merely allows you to take an opponents peice from the board, rather than being an instant win.
